New Resources: Incentive Stock Options, Important Dates, and Important Milestones (And Updated Resources)

There is a LOT going on at fpPathfinder right now. Almost all the resources are being updated for 2021 over the next few weeks.  If there is a particular resource you’re looking for, chances are it will be updated very soon (if it hasn’t been updated already).  We’re also really excited to announce three new resources to help you be more diligent in the planning process. Details are below:

New Checklist: What Issues Should I Consider Regarding My Incentive Stock Options?

Incentive Stock Options (ISOs) are a form of equity compensation, offering employees a share in the potential appreciation of a company’s value, with preferential tax treatment. Many of your clients have been (or will be) granted ISOs by their employer during their career. Deciding whether and when to exercise ISOs and sell shares can be difficult and requires cash flow analysis, complex tax planning, and a long-term strategy.

New Resource: Important Dates

There are many important dates that advisors need to keep in mind. Different contexts and client circumstances will affect applicable deadlines, making it difficult for advisors to identify which figures should be referenced.

In response to this challenge, we’ve created the “Important Dates” resource. This quick reference guide covers the key dates and milestones that are commonly referred to during the year.

New Resource: Important Milestones

There are many important client milestones that advisors need to keep in mind. Eligibility requirements often depend on a client’s year of birth, residency, or other personal circumstances. With these variables, it can be difficult to track and recall how clients’ ages open or foreclose planning opportunities.

In response to this challenge, we’ve created the “Important Milestones” resource. This quick reference guide covers key milestones to keep in mind across your client relationships.

Special Note On 2021 Updates:
The vast majority of the resources are being updated and posted for 2021. In most cases, we are just updating the resources to account for new annual limits, but there are a handful of resources that are getting updated to address member feedback. We will be updating the member section throughout December and the first part of January. As always, we will include status updates in our newsletters so you can keep an eye out for the resources you need.
